Basketball Game Preview: Mount Pleasant Tigers vs. North Rowan Cavaliers

The Mount Pleasant Tigers just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the North Rowan Cavaliers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Mount Pleasant turned things around against Gray Stone Day on Tuesday. They breezed by the Knights to the tune of 55-20. With the Tigers ahead 31-9 at the half, the game was all but over already.

North Rowan hasn't had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They enjoyed a cozy 62-44 win over South Stanly on Saturday. The Cavaliers pushed the score to 49-27 by the end of the third, a deficit the Rowdy Rebel Bulls cut but never quite recovered from.

North Rowan had a senior duo take command as Allanah McAuthur dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds and Dasia Elder posted 18 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. Elder's afternoon made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Krisstyle Stockton, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

Mount Pleasant's victory bumped their record up to 10-8. As for North Rowan, their win bumped their record up to 4-10.

Mount Pleasant came out on top in a nail-biter against North Rowan in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, sneaking past 41-39. Will Mount Pleasant repeat their success, or does North Rowan have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
