LEAD Academy entered their tilt with Pearl-Cohn on Friday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They came out on top against the Pearl-Cohn Firebirds by a score of 54-42. For the Panthers, this counts as revenge for the 68-65 win the Firebirds walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Despite the loss, Pearl-Cohn saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Lance Donaldson posted 14 points and seven boards. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for Donaldson. Another player making a difference was Javion Kinnard, who scored 14 points and five rebounds.

LEAD Academy's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-11. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.3 points per game. As for Pearl-Cohn, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-8.

LEAD Academy has already played their next match (against Stem Preparatory Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Pearl-Cohn will take on White House-Heritage at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. White House-Heritage is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57 points per game this season.
