Soccer Recap: St. Mary's Dominican Comes Up Short

St. Mary's Dominican was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 4-0 to the Newman Greenies. While losing is never fun, St. Mary's Dominican can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana soccer rankings (they are ranked 29th, while Newman is ranked fifth).

St. Mary's Dominican's defeat dropped their record down to 13-9-2. As for Newman, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2-2 record this season.

St. Mary's Dominican wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against St. Thomas More on the 17th. Newman has also already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against St. Scholastica on the 16th.
