Baseball Recap: Montgomery Wins Going Away Against Columbia Montour Vo-Tech

After only two runs in their last game, Montgomery made sure to put some runs up on the board against Columbia Montour Vo-Tech on Tuesday. The Red Raiders were the clear victors by a 13-0 margin over the Rams. The Red Raiders have beaten the Rams the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Rams has come to flipping the script.

Montgomery let Chase Bennett and Victor Ottman run wild. Bennett scored three runs while going 3-for-4, while Ottman scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Those three runs gave Ottman a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cody Sechrist, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Montgomery always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Columbia Montour Vo-Tech only posted an OBP of .167.

Montgomery's record is now 5-1. As for Columbia Montour Vo-Tech, their defeat was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-6.
