Clymer Central takes loss despite strong efforts from Kaden Beckerink and Jonathan Massing

Recap: Clymer Central Pirates vs. Ellicottville Eagles

The Clymer Central Pirates suffered their closest loss yet this season on Monday. They fell just short of Ellicottville by a score of 35-33. Clymer Central was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Ellicottville apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.

Jonathan Massing and Kaden Beckerink certainly did their best on Monday to try and avoid the loss. Massing scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and three steals, while Beckerink scored ten points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Massing hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for five straight games.

Clymer Central struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Owen Chudy was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds for Ellicottville. Chudy also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Cameron Mendell, who scored six points.

Clymer Central bumped their record down to 4-7 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Ellicottville, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-3.

Clymer Central will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Brocton at 7:30 p.m. As for Ellicottville, they will head out on the road to face off against Franklinville at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
