Basketball Recap: Brent Johnson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Alief Taylor over Fulshear

Alief Taylor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 54-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fulshear Chargers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 53-44 back in November.

Alief Taylor's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brent Johnson, who posted nine points and seven rebounds. Johnson has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Jineti Gure was another key player, putting up seven points.

Alief Taylor's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Fulshear, they moved to 8-13 with that victory, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

Alief Taylor didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 79-61 win against Galena Park on the 20th. As for Fulshear, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 50-40 victory against Alief Hastings on the 20th.
