Basketball Recap: Yoakum Drops Highest Score of Season Against Rice Consolidated

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Yoakum). They claimed a resounding 65-13 win over the Rice Consolidated Raiders. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bulldogs as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Yoakum's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 8-10. As for Rice Consolidated, they dropped their record down to 1-13 with the loss, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Yoakum and Rice Consolidated could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Yoakum (ranked 975th) will meet Moulton (ranked 412th) at 3:30 p.m. on December 30th. Meanwhile, Rice Consolidated will face off against Edna at 1:15 p.m. on January 3, 2025 down 1,032 places (1450 vs. 418).
