Live Oak is 7-2 against Piedmont Hills since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. Live Oak will venture away from home to take on Piedmont Hills at 4:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Live Oak sitting on four straight wins and Piedmont Hills on nine.
While Live Oak didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 7-2 victory over Prospect on Friday.

Julianna Altamirano spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up 16 Ks. Those 16 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
At the plate, Tilly Hill was a standout: she scored a run while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Brooke Frausto also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Piedmont Hills beat Silver Creek 9-4 on Friday.
Piedmont Hills also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Alicia Valladarez gave up just two earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 11 Ks. Valladarez has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Isabella Paskert, who fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Ava Martinez, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Piedmont Hills' win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-3. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Live Oak, their win bumped their record up to 9-1.
Wednesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Live Oak has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .507. However, it's not like Piedmont Hills struggles in that department as they've averaged .454. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Live Oak took their victory against Piedmont Hills in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 8-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Live Oak since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
