Softball Game Preview: Beverly Panthers vs. Marblehead Magicians

The Beverly Panthers will take on the Marblehead Magicians at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are still undefeated (Beverly has five wins dating back to last season, while Marblehead has four dating back to last season).

If Beverly beats Marblehead with eight runs on Wednesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. The Panthers skirted past Masconomet Regional 8-6.

Meanwhile, Marblehead hadn't done well against Peabody Veterans Memorial recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Magicians walked away with a 7-4 win over the Tanners. That's two games straight that the Magicians have won by exactly three runs.

Beverly's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. As for Marblehead, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.
