Basketball Recap: Tiospa Zina Takes a Loss

Tiospa Zina was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 50-45 heartbreaker at the hands of the Tiospaye Topa Thunderhawks. The Wambdi were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Thunderhawks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2022.

Among those leading the charge was Jacolby Rousseau, who posted 21 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Tiospaye Topa's points. Another player making a difference was Laken Traversie, who scored ten points.

Tiospa Zina's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Tiospaye Topa, their win bumped their record up to 4-7.

Tiospa Zina wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 54-52 victory against Flandreau Indian on the 1st. As for Tiospaye Topa, they have also already played their next contest, a 58-31 loss against Wakpala on the 1st.
