Football Recap: Maranatha Minutemen vs. Western Christian Fighting Lancers

Maranatha had lost three straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 4-3 to make it four. They fell 41-34 to the Western Christian Fighting Lancers. The Minutemen were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Fighting Lancers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Maranatha lost, don't look at Cooper Berry. Despite the final result, he threw for 283 yards and four touchdowns while completing 77.3% of his passes, and also rushed for 47 yards. Berry has become a key player for the Minutemen: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least three passing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise. Another player making a difference was George Pamilton, who gained 72 total yards and two touchdowns.
