Edinburg extends home winning streak to 18

Recap: Edinburg Bobcats vs. Edinburg North Cougars

The Edinburg Bobcats can now show off 21 landslide victories after their most recent game on Tuesday. They blew past Edinburg North 91-55 at home. The victory was nothing new for Edinburg as they're now sitting on 13 straight.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Edinburg to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emily Carranco, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten assists. That's the first time this season that Carranco posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Martinez, who went 8 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 32 points and 0 assists.

Loss or not, Edinburg North got some senior leadership from Etsel Ramirez and Kaylah Lozano. Ramirez scored 15 points along with seven rebounds, while Lozano. scored 11 points along with seven assists. Another player making a difference was Roxanna Rodriguez, who scored 11 points along with two steals.

Edinburg pushed their record up to 28-2 with that win, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 34.56 points. As for Edinburg North, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-16.

Edinburg will head out on the road to square off against Pharr-San Juan-Alamo at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Pharr-San Juan-Alamo focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Friday. As for Edinburg North, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Economedes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
