Softball Recap: Wildwood Wildcats vs. Countryside Christian Minutemen

Wildwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 18-1 to the Countryside Christian Minutemen. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Minutemen this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 25-7 back in February.

Wildwood saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Barron, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Barron hit this season.

Wildwood's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Countryside Christian, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

Coming up, Wildwood will welcome Real Life Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Real Life Christian Academy knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Wildwood likes a good challenge. As for Countryside Christian, they will venture away from home to challenge Ocala Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Countryside Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12.7 runs per game this season.
