Softball Game Preview: Middlesboro Yellowjackets vs. Russell County Lakers

The Middlesboro Yellowjackets will face off against the Russell County Lakers at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Middlesboro will be strutting in after a win while Russell County will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Middlesboro turned things around against Metcalfe County on Sunday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Hornets a 3-0 shutout.

Meanwhile, Russell County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Sunday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Paducah Tilghman. The game marked the Lakers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Middlesboro's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Russell County, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.
