Softball Recap: Killingly Trailblazers vs. Woodstock Academy Centaurs

Killingly hadn't done well against Woodstock Academy recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Trailblazers were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Centaurs. The Trailblazers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by six runs or more this season.

Danielle Veillette was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Veillette was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.

In other batting news, Killingly got a massive performance out of Violet Schaefer, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Schaefer continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Loretta Lannon was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Killingly kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Woodstock Academy only managed six.
