Basketball Recap: Manteca Buffaloes vs. Central Catholic Raiders

Manteca lost against Central Catholic back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Manteca Buffaloes fell 52-41 to the Central Catholic Raiders. The Buffaloes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jordan Magana was his usual excellent self, going 9 for 21 on his way to 26 points for Central Catholic. That makes it three consecutive games in which Magana has scored at least a third of Central Catholic's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brendan Carter, who posted ten points and seven boards.

Manteca's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Central Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-10 record this season.

Manteca will look to defend their home court on Friday against Mountain House at 7:30 p.m. Mountain House knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Manteca likes a good challenge. As for Central Catholic, they will head out to take on Patterson at 7:30 p.m. on January 29th.
