It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Mission Valley ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Council Grove Braves, sneaking past 6-4. The Vikings have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Braves, too.

Rykin Kraus was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Sam Bryan was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Mission Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Mission Valley pushed their record up to 16-6-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Council Grove, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Braves beat Mission Valley by a score of 9-8 later that day.
