The Jefferson Academy Jaguars will venture away from home to challenge the Eagle Ridge Academy Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Eagle Ridge Academy took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Jefferson Academy, who comes in off a win.
It was a proper cat-fight when Jefferson Academy challenged St. Mary's Academy on Monday. The Jaguars put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Jaguars not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since September 9th (when they won 3-0).
Jefferson Academy was especially dominant in the second set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-15, 25-20.
Jefferson Academy found their leader in freshman Tailey Sengdara, who had 12 digs and four aces.
Jefferson Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Eagle Ridge Academy came up short against Stargate School on Tuesday, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Warriors have suffered against the Eagles since August 19, 2021.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-14, 25-15.
Eagle Ridge Academy's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Jefferson Academy, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 7-10.
Jefferson Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Eagle Ridge Academy in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Jaguars since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
