Volleyball Game Preview: Empire Ravens vs. Thatcher Eagles + How To Watch

The Empire Ravens will take on the Thatcher Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Empire's favor as the team sits on eight straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Thatcher has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.

Empire took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against Safford, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Ravens won by a set and slipped past the Bulldogs 3-2.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Empire who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-11, 24-26, 25-20, 8-25, 15-13.

Among those leading the charge was Addyson White, who had 25 digs and five assists. Those 25 digs gave her a new career-high.

Empire was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in seven consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Thatcher made easy work of Catalina on Thursday and carried off a 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won four in a row.

Empire's win bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Thatcher, their victory bumped their record up to 10-13.
