Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Rockwall pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the year beating Allen to advance to the third round of the 6A Division 1 bracket. They were trailing 59-52 and scored a touchdown with just over a minute left and went for two, and got it. They won 60-59 and Smith-Njigba finished the night with 15 receptions for 252 yards and five touchdowns adding another score on the ground.
The other big upset was in the 6A Division 2 field.
EJ Smith led Dallas Jesuit to a 27-25 win over the defending state champs, Longview. He accounted for 202 total yards and four scores.
