Softball Recap: Todd County Central Rebels vs. Ohio County Eagles
Todd County Central extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 10-14 in the process. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ohio County Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 on Thursday.
As for Ohio County, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-16-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games.
For Ohio County's part, Madyson Crowe (2027) was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Crowe (2027) has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Talynn Clark (2026), who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one triple. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brylie Keown (2028), who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one triple.
Coming up, Todd County Central will square off against Franklin-Simpson at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Ohio County, they will take on Bowling Green at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
