Soccer Recap: Austintown-Fitch Takes a Loss

After flying high against Boardman on Thursday, Austintown-Fitch came back down to earth. The Falcons fell just short of the GlenOak Golden Eagles by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Austintown-Fitch can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 161st, while GlenOak are ranked 43rd).

Austintown-Fitch's loss dropped their record down to 6-8-1. As for GlenOak, they pushed their record up to 13-3-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home.

Austintown-Fitch wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next contest, a 5-2 victory against Highland on the 13th. As for GlenOak, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Brunswick at 7:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
