Soccer Game Recap: Central vs. Jonesboro

After failing to score in their last game, Central made sure to put some goals up on the board against Jonesboro on Tuesday. They never let the Jonesboro Cardinals get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by nine goals or more this season.

Their offense was hitting Jonesboro from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Marli Maxwell led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for four goals all by herself.

Central's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-6. As for Jonesboro, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Looking ahead, Central will be playing in front of their home fans against Northside at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Northside's defense has only allowed 0.4 goals per game this season, so Central's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Jonesboro, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Jonesboro face off against Harris County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Harris County will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Jonesboro surely won't give up without a fight.
