The DePaul Catholic Spartans will head out to take on the Delbarton Green Wave at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Delbarton took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on DePaul Catholic, who comes in off a win.
DePaul Catholic is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Jersey's top teams: St. Peter's Prep, who was ranked fifth at the time (DePaul Catholic was ranked seventh). The Spartans came out on top against the Marauders by a score of 31-21 on Friday. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Marauders recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Marquan Carter continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 158 yards and one TD. Those 158 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. AJ Larkin got in on the action as well, returning a kick for a touchdown.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to DePaul Catholic's defense and their five sacks. Logan Monteyne was especially locked on to St. Peter's Prep's QB and sacked him three times. Monteyne has been hot recently, having also posted nine or more total tackles the last three times he's played. DePaul Catholic received some extra help from Jaxon Bastante, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 38 points the game before, Delbarton was a bit more limited in their matchup on Saturday. They were dealt a 42-7 loss at the hands of Bergen Catholic. The Green Wave were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-7.
DePaul Catholic will have to contain Matthew Tafuri as he made an impact in Delbarton's last game. He picked up 104 receiving yards and one touchdown. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 80 yards.
DePaul Catholic's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Delbarton, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
Saturday's contest might be decided on the ground. DePaul Catholic has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 177.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Delbarton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 158.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Saturday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
DePaul Catholic and Delbarton were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, but DePaul Catholic came up empty-handed after a 52-51 defeat. Thankfully for the Spartans, Phillip Folmar (who picked up 171 receiving yards and three scores, and also rushed for 32 yards and one TD) won't be suiting up this time.
