St. Joseph-Ogden came tearing into Saturday's match with 21 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Reed-Custer Comets by a score of 9-5. The Spartans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Comets, too.

St. Joseph-Ogden's victory was their 12th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 28-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for Reed-Custer, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-11.

Coincidentally, St. Joseph-Ogden and Reed-Custer will both be playing Galesburg the next time they take the field. The Comets will head out to face the Silver Streaks at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday, while the Spartans will play them later in the day, at 2:30 p.m.
