Football Game Preview: Gordon-Rushville Mustangs vs. Amherst Broncos

The Gordon-Rushville Mustangs will face off against the Amherst Broncos at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with eight consecutive losses for Gordon-Rushville and four for Amherst.

On Friday, Gordon-Rushville was beaten by Valentine 44-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Mustangs have suffered against Valentine since October 4, 2019.

Gordon-Rushville might have lost, but man, Daniel Martins was a machine: he picked up 201 receiving yards and one TD. Martins was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 68 yards.

Meanwhile, Amherst didn't have quite enough to beat Mitchell on Friday and fell 20-17.

Gordon-Rushville's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Amherst, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Gordon-Rushville was able to grind out a solid win over Amherst when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 21-13. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Broncos turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
