Game recap: Gilman High School Football Team bests McDonogh

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - After taking the lead in the fourth quarter, Gilman (Baltimore, Md.) held on for a 20-8 victory over McDonogh (Owings Mills, Md.) on Saturday. The difference for the Greyhounds was it ran for a touchdown.

After trailing 7-0 at the half, the Eagles went ahead on a two-point conversion with 9:00 left in the third. Gilman finally took the lead for good as it ran for a touchdown with 11:00 to go in the fourth quarter.

By the end of the third, GHS found itself trailing by 1 point as McDonogh captured the lead thanks to two scores in the quarter. MHS scored on a defensive touchdown and a two-point conversion in the quarter.

The Owings Mills school's lone touchdown came on a defensive touchdown in the third quarter.

Led by Micah Kiser, the Baltimore school went into the matchup giving up only 13.0 points per game.



When the two teams played each other last season, the Greyhounds came away with a 31-21 victory.

The defeat comes as a step back for McDonogh, which notched a 28-7 victory over Loyola Blakefield in its previous outing.
