Basketball Recap: Lee-Scott Academy Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

If Lee-Scott Academy was feeling good fresh off their 71-32 takedown of Dadeville last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lee-Scott Academy Warriors fell just short of the Glenwood Gators by a score of 67-65 on Friday. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Gators apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Lee-Scott Academy lost, don't look at Haiden Harper. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 31 points and nine boards. Harper has become a key player for Lee-Scott Academy: the team is 18-2 when he posts at least 30 points, but 1-2 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Chapman Harris, who went 5 for 7 en route to 14 points and three steals.

Even though they lost, Lee-Scott Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in six consecutive games.

Glenwood's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Braylen Alexander, who went 7 of 13 on his way to 22 points. Jadarian Holloway was another key player, going 8 for 14 en route to 20 points.

Lee-Scott Academy's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-4. As for Glenwood, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 16-5.

Lee-Scott Academy is taking a road trip to face off against Beulah at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Glenwood, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 65-50 victory against Dadeville on the 18th.
