Basketball Recap: Napa's Win Ends Eight-Game Losing Streak on the Road

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Napa ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They snuck past the Lowell Cardinals with a 53-49 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Grizzlies.

Leading Napa to victory were Gael Bazounguissa and Cris Rendon. Bazounguissa went 8 for 15 on his way to 22 points, while Rendon almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds. The game was Bazounguissa's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Henry Macpherson was another key player, putting up seven points.

Napa's victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-5. As for Lowell, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

After both having extra time off, Napa and Justin-Siena will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Napa is facing Justin-Siena at the right time seeing as Justin-Siena is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Lowell, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 54-37 loss against Stuart Hall on the 20th.
