Softball Preview: Arlington Admirals vs. Clarkstown South Vikings
The Arlington Admirals are taking a road trip to take on the Clarkstown South Vikings at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Arlington proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by ten) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out New Rochelle 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Admirals have posted since April 30, 2024.
Sam Harris spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on eight hits and racked up nine Ks.
At the plate, Sam Laffin was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Sophia Terilli was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Clarkstown South had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past Ketcham 8-2.
