Liberty came tearing into Friday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Archbishop Mitty Monarchs a 9-0 shutout. That looming 9-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Lions yet this season.

Kaitlyn Macias was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kelsie Skaggs, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Madison Tuttle was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Liberty was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .542. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .321 or higher in six consecutive games.
