After a string of four wins, Wallkill's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of the Roosevelt Presidents by a score of 3-2. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Presidents earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Wallkill took Roosevelt into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking eight-point loss. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-22, 19-25, 20-25, 15-7.

Wallkill's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 11-4-4. As for Roosevelt, their win bumped their record up to 3-4-1.

Wallkill will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Saugerties at 5:45 p.m. on the 29th. As for Roosevelt, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Spackenkill on the 19th.
