Basketball Recap: Clovis Takes a Loss

Clovis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 87-54 loss at the hands of the Clovis West Golden Eagles. The Cougars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 54-22.

Dj Stickman was his usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double on 25 points, 15 rebounds, and 11 assists for Clovis West. Stickman's evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Jace Kellogg was another key player, going 5 of 9 on his way to 13 points and five boards.

Clovis' record now sits at 9-14. As for Clovis West, their win bumped their record up to 10-13.

Clovis and Clovis West could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Clovis will take on Central at 6:30 p.m. on Friday down 292 places (406 vs. 114). Similarly, Clovis West (ranked 132nd) will meet Clovis North (ranked 15th) at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
