Preview: Franklin Cougars vs. Americas Trail Blazers
Franklin has been on the road for two straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Americas Trail Blazers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Franklin beat Coronado 54-43. Given Franklin's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 164th, while Coronado is ranked 804th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Franklin relied on the efforts of Noah Hall, who scored 14 points along with five steals, and Jazhiel Herrera, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Hall hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Eddie Garcia was another key contributor, scoring five points along with two steals.
In what's become a running theme this season, Americas gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They claimed a resounding 62-35 victory over Montwood at home. Winning may never get old, but Americas sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Franklin is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 23-6 record this season. As for Americas, their win was their 16th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 28-3.
Franklin came up short against Americas in their previous matchup back in January, falling 49-38. Will Franklin have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
