Enochs barely beat Orestimba the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 9-1 win on Friday. Considering the Eagles have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Soraya Mendoza tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned run off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Enochs let Joella Amezcua and Makayla Alailima run wild. Amezcua went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles, while Alailima went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That's the most hits Amezcua has posted since back in April of 2024. Camila Ramirez Quintana was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs.
Enochs always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Orestimba only posted an OBP of .280.
The victory made it two in a row for Enochs and bumps their season record up to 18-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Orestimba, they now have a losing record of 10-11.
Looking ahead, Enochs will take on Modesto at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Orestimba, they will square off against Sonora at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
