Basketball Recap: Mandeville Piles Up the Points Against Hammond

Mandeville won the last time they faced Hammond and things went their way on Friday too. The Mandeville Skippers breezed by the Hammond Tornadoes to the tune of 66-27. The Skippers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 21 points or more this season.

Alanna Benoit continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 26 points and ten steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Giulia Balbo, who posted 11 points.

Mandeville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Mandeville pushed their record up to 20-7 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 31.7 points. As for Hammond, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-17.

Mandeville will square off against French Settlement at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hammond, they will challenge Fontainebleau at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
