Webster falls despite big games from Hondo Avington and Amondre Davis

Recap: Webster Warriors vs. Nathan Hale Rangers

The Webster Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight defeat. They took a 68-49 bruising from Nathan Hale. While losing is never fun, Webster can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 378th, while Nathan Hale is ranked 147th).

Webster's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Amondre Davis, who scored 12 points along with eight assists and five rebounds, and Hondo Avington who scored 14 points. It was the first time this season that Davis posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Terrance Franklin, who scored seven points.

Webster dropped their record down to 3-17 with that loss, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Nathan Hale, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

Webster does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Nathan Hale, they will be playing at home against Glenpool at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
