Basketball Recap: Kenneth Diaz Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat USC Hybrid

After losing to USC Hybrid the last time they met, Gertz-Ressler decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Gertz-Ressler Pumas walked away with a 56-45 victory over the USC Hybrid Trojans on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pumas.

Gertz-Ressler's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kenneth Diaz led the charge by going 7 for 16 on his way to 14 points and three steals. Diaz has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Mathew Rios was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds.

Gertz-Ressler's win bumped their record up to 4-9. As for USC Hybrid, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-4.

Gertz-Ressler has already played their next matchup, a 72-35 defeat against View Park on the 24th. As for USC Hybrid, they will take on New Designs University Park at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
