Baseball Game Preview: Mechanicville Red Raiders vs. Waterford-Halfmoon Fordians

For the second straight game, Mechanicville will face off against Waterford-Halfmoon. The Red Raiders will head out on the road to square off against the Fordians at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Mechanicville is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Waterford-Halfmoon 18-1 on Monday. The Red Raiders not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since May 3, 2024 (when they won 21-3).

For Waterford-Halfmoon's part, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Conner Belonga, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. That double marked the first that Belonga has hit this season.

Mechanicville pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.4 runs over those games. As for Waterford-Halfmoon, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
