Soccer Game Preview: Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe vs. Rockmart

The Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe Warriors will face off against the Rockmart Yellowjackets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Rockmart took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe, who comes in off a win.

Last Tuesday, Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe beat Christian Heritage 4-2. That's two games straight that the Warriors have won by exactly two goals.

They hit Christian Heritage with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Gio Perez (2), Anthony Velasquez, and Rafael Leal.

Meanwhile, after soaring to five goals the game before, Rockmart was a bit more limited in their game last Thursday. They lost 10-0 to Woodland. One thing that didn't help the Yellowjackets' chances was the red card they were dealt courtesy of Mason Williams.

The victory made it two in a row for Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored seven goals over those two contests. As for Rockmart, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe came out on top in a nail-biter against Rockmart in their previous matchup back in February of 2022, sneaking past 2-1. Will Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe repeat their success, or does Rockmart have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
