They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 48-47 to John Paul II Catholic. Arendell Parrott Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as John Paul II Catholic apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
When it comes to explaining why Arendell Parrott Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Giorgio Parravicini. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points. Another player making a difference was Chase Jones, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and two steals.
John Paul II Catholic was led to victory by Kyle Watkins and Caleb Knight. Watkins scored 15 points, while Knight scored 13 points along with two steals. Watkins is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Latavious Moore, who scored six points along with two steals.
Arendell Parrott Academy dropped their record down to 3-13 with that loss, which was their eighth straight at home. As for John Paul II Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 6-12.
Arendell Parrott Academy will head out on the road to square off against Greenfield at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Greenfield will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak. As for John Paul II Catholic, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Coastal Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Coastal Christian is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 50.9 points per game.
