Baseball Game Preview: Lebanon Greyhounds vs. Marissa/Coulterville Meteors

For the second straight game, Lebanon will face off against Marissa/Coulterville. The Greyhounds will head out to challenge the Meteors at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lebanon has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with five straight losses, while Marissa/Coulterville will come in with four straight wins.

Lebanon came up short against Marissa/Coulterville on Tuesday, falling 14-1.

For Marissa/Coulterville's part, Jack Stewart made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Stewart posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.

In other batting news, Ryne Rhodes and Fred Klingeman did most of the damage at the plate: Rhodes went a perfect 2-for-2 with two triples, three runs, and three RBI, while Klingeman scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Those three runs gave Klingeman a new career-high. Landen Perry also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Marissa/Coulterville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Marissa/Coulterville's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-4. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Lebanon, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.
