Basketball Recap: Lutheran West Comes Up Short

Lutheran West suffered their closest loss since December 8, 2023 on Saturday. They fell just short of the Lowell Red Devils by a score of 60-57. While losing is never fun, the Longhorns can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 455th in Ohio, while the Red Devils are ranked 174th in Indiana).

Lowell's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bre Kidd led the charge by putting up 15 points and five boards. Reagan Claus was another key player, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Lutheran West and nudges their season record down to 6-9. As for Lowell, their record is now 12-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lutheran West has already played their next match (against Beachwood), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Lowell has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against La Porte.
