3A Region 8 recap September 17, 2013
Seminary was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from third to first in 3A Region 8. Earlier in the week, the Bulldogs triumphed over Wesson 38-19.
Sumrall lost to Hancock 56-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
West Marion's dynamic duo of Josh Miller and Money Gaddis proved to be unstoppable against Columbia, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Miller threw for 252 yards and 2 touchdowns and Gaddis had 131 yards receiving. Brandon Husband helped West Marion's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 58 yards.
The Trojans' dynamic duo of Miller and Gaddis proved tough for the Wildcats to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Cliff Horn was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 11 carries, he ran for 62 yards as St. Patrick lost to Columbia. Teammate Kolbie Spence added to the ground attack by rushing for 36 yards.
He went 16-24 with 2 interceptions.
Gaddis was the best receiver in the league this week as Brad Duncan's team lost to Walter Denton's team.
Miller put up the best numbers in passing as the Trojans lost to the Wildcats.
Seminary led 3A Region 8 in scoring this week by notching 38 points on the Cobras.
