Jake Noling was his usual excellent self, rushing for 127 yards and one touchdown while picking up 7.9 yards per carry, and also throwing for 94 yards and one TD. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in October of 2024.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Crestview was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 258 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 184 rushing yards in 19 consecutive contests dating back to last season.
Another reason for the win was Crestview's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. They got some further help from Mikey Proctor: he made 19 total tackles and defended one pass.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for LaBrae, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They strolled past Southeast with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 42-28.
Crestview better keep an eye on Easton Armstrong. He was instrumental in LaBrae's win, rushing for 162 yards and three scores while picking up 8.1 yards per carry. With that strong performance, Armstrong is now averaging an impressive 105.1 rushing yards per game.
Crestview's victory bumped their record up to 9-0. As for LaBrae, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Crestview has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 278.9 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like LaBrae struggles in that department as they've been averaging 229.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Crestview against LaBrae in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 58-25 win. Do the Rebels have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
