Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask East Laurens). Their defense stepped up to hand the Northeast Raiders a 10-0 shutout on Thursday. The final result isn't all the surprising considering East Laurens' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 129th, while Northeast are ranked 425th).

East Laurens is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 28 goals over those seven contests. As for Northeast, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Coming up, East Laurens will take on Central at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Northeast does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
