After a string of seven wins, New Jerusalem Christian Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of the Brandon Academy Scorpions by a score of 47-45.

Elijah Marcellus and Donathan Edwards certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Marcellus went 6 of 10 on his way to 13 points and seven boards, while Edwards went 6 of 8 on his way to 14 points.

Chris Harris continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Brandon Academy, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 16 rebounds. Harris is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least 12 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremy Pepersburg, who posted ten points and five steals.

New Jerusalem Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Brandon Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1.

New Jerusalem Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 46-43 defeat against Lakewood Ranch Preparatory Academy on the 14th. As for Brandon Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 74-21 loss against Indian Rocks Christian on the 14th.
