Baseball Recap: Avon Grove Triumphs

Avon Grove's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They came out on top against the Sun Valley Vanguards by a score of 7-2. The win continues a trend for the Red Devils in their matchups with the Vanguards: they've now won nine in a row.

Ryan Fuller looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He is becoming a predictor of Avon Grove's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 2-1 (and 2-7 when he doesn't).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Andrew Simeone, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Avon Grove is 2-1 when Simeone posts two or more stolen bases, but 2-7 otherwise. Anthony Bishop was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Avon Grove always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2025.
