Basketball Game Preview: Whites Creek Cobras vs. LEAD Academy Panthers

The Whites Creek Cobras will face off against the LEAD Academy Panthers on Tuesday. Whites Creek has given up an average of 50.6 points per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.

Whites Creek will head out to face LEAD Academy after giving up their first home loss of the season last Saturday. Whites Creek took a 57-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of East Nashville Magnet.

Whites Creek's defeat came about despite a quality game from Malachi Benton, who shot 67% from the field to rack up 17 points. Another player making a difference was Noah Hughes, who posted ten points and six assists.

Meanwhile, LEAD Academy waltzed into their game on Saturday with ten straight wins... but they left with 11. They enjoyed a cozy 75-56 win over the Warriors. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 141st, while the Warriors are ranked 309th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

LEAD Academy's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-11. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points over those games. As for Whites Creek, they suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 12-11.

Everything went Whites Creek's way against LEAD Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as Whites Creek made off with a 93-70 win. Does Whites Creek have another victory up their sleeve, or will LEAD Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
