Softball Recap: Althoff Catholic Takes a Loss

Althoff Catholic had lost four straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 1-16 to make it five. They came up short against the Collinsville Kahoks, falling 15-0. That's two games in a row now that the Crusaders have lost by exactly 15 runs.

As for Collinsville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-13. They not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since May 1, 2024 (when they won 17-2).

For Collinsville's part, Lilly Paarlberg was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Paarlberg was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Bailey Demick was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Carsyn Moad was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Althoff Catholic has already played their next match, a 0-0 loss against Father McGivney Catholic on the 12th. As for Collinsville, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-0 defeat against Jersey on the 10th.
